The Center for Health & Prevention Clinics – CAPSLO
The Center for Health & Prevention (The Center) clinics offer confidential, caring non-judgmental sexual/reproductive health care at our two full-time sites in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande, as well as on campus at Grizzly Youth Academy, Cuesta College SLO and Hancock College in Santa Maria. Services include: pregnancy testing with all options counseling, contraceptives, HIV/HepC testing, STI testing and treatment, reproductive health exams, menopausal services, sexual health resources and more!

SLO County UndocuSupport is a collaboration of local organizations, community leaders, and concerned individuals who came together during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic with a common goal: to provide financial support for local immigrant families, including undocumented and mixed status immigrant families who were left out of federal pandemic relief programs.

OUR HISTORY: In 2015, CCC-USS was founded by staff and faculty from Allan Hancock College, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), and Cuesta College. Today, CCC-USS includes K-12 representatives and other community partners in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara counties.

R.A.C.E. Matters SLO
MISSION: To create artistic, cultural, educational, and social experiences that amplify Black voices and matters of racial justice.

VISION: We envision a community that pushes no-one to the margins, celebrates diversity, and works together for racial and social justice.

WHAT WE DO: We fulfill our mission through the production of events and media content, response to social and racial injustice, and support of others in the community working in this space.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN… In 2016, R.A.C.E. Matters formed in response to the killing of unarmed black men by law enforcement. A group of like-minded people began to meet, seeing a need for local engagement around racial and social justice. We’ve since responded more directly to the lack of Black-centered spaces and cultural content in the San Luis Obispo area.

SLO County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls
The Commission on the Status of Women and Girls is an official advisory group to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors established in 1975. The Commission identifies issues of concern to women and girls of San Luis Obispo County, provides input to County officials, and collaborates with other organizations to address the needs of women in our community. The mission of the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls is to work to improve the lives of women and girls in San Luis Obispo County by advocating for equal rights and collaborating with agencies and programs that support the health, socioeconomic and professional well-being of women and girls in our community.

At Her Table
At Her Table gathers women owned and co-owned food and beverage businesses for a week of culinary celebration. The event happens annually in March during Women’s History Month and the week of International Women’s Day. It is fiscally sponsored by a local 501(c)(3) and is able to accept tax-deductible donations. Our mission is to bring awareness to women-owned businesses by creating spaces of celebration, education, diversity, and inclusivity on the central coast.

SLO Bend the Arc
Bend the Arc SLO is a local chapter of the largest Jewish Social Justice organization in the US working towards a just society for everyone. Locally we have worked on criminal Justice reform, immigration issues, election issues, etc. so that ALL people are treated fairly and equitably.

SLO County Citizens for Good Government
SLO County Citizens for Good Government (SLOCCGG) is a nonpartisan, group made up of a wide range of county residents who have been active in the County redistricting process to redraw county supervisorial districts. The most immediate action of SLOCCGG is to overturn the SLO County Board of Supervisors’ gerrymandered redistricting plan.

AAUW (American Association of University Women) – San Luis Obispo
The mission of AAUW (American Association of University Women) is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. AAUW is the oldest and largest national organization for women. It was founded in Boston in 1881 for the mutual support of women college graduates and has grown into a major force in advancing equity for women in education, employment and public service, and also to raise money for fellowships to advance women in higher education. Members from the AAUW SLO Branch, Atascadero Branch, and Five Cities – Pismo Beach Branch will be present to provide information about membership and advocacy opportunities associated with the AAUW. Our branches support local women and girls through branch activities, scholarships, legislative action, and more.

Founded Feb. 12. 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization. Its more than half-million members and supporters throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, campaigning for equal opportunity and conducting voter mobilization. The NAACP’s principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of United States and eliminate race prejudice. The NAACP seeks to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through the democratic processes. The NAACP SLO County Branch is here to educate and support the community.
