Join us for the 27th episode of Answering the Call with Carol Kerwin and Naomi Altergott, certified SCORE mentors for San Luis Obispo chapter. The mission of San Luis Obispo SCORE chapter is to provide professional guidance and information to small or new businesses in order to strengthen local economy through free mentoring services. Join our conversation to learn more about local entrepreneurship, women in business, and the particular effects of Covid-19. We will discuss how women can launch a successful business, and what resources and tools there are available to them through SCORE.
About our speakers:
Carol Kerwin has a BS in Electrical Engineering, an MBA and AS degree in Viticulture. She is an expert in Business Plans as a Certified SCORE Mentor. Her engineering career spanned 22 years designing special purpose computers for radars, integrating GPS into a variety of Tri-service vehicles and managing a program using GPS to guide Special Forces parachutists. She then got an SBA loan, started and grew a printing company to over $600,000 in sales, sold it and retired. Stints as a patent consultant and a bookkeeper for a winery followed. She now is the assistant chapter administrator and puts on the business plan workshop and lunch-time workshops for the chapter.
Naomi Altergott is an independent Financial Professional with World Financial Group/The Altergott Strategic Focus Team. She provides Financial Literacy Workshop & Financial education to businesses employee’s, families and individuals, offering over 360 products and services. Naomi is a Certified Mentor and Volunteer with SCORE, a proud Ambassador of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, and the Membership Chair with the Santa Maria Women’s Network. She is married to her husband of 25 years, Randy Altergott. They moved to the Central Coast to enjoy the wonderful weather and people. Naomi enjoys cooking, golfing and beach time, and keeps busy with her 7-year-old Boxer named Mykonos.
