On October 14th, 2017, we will come together to honor those whose lives were taken in the Las Vegas massacre.

WMSLO organizers will read names and biographies of those whose lives were taken. Mission choir, musician Matthew Evans will perform at the event and Carol MacCurdy, professor emeritus at Cal Poly, will read a poem.

We are raising funds for Samantha Faranda who recently moved to Las Vegas from the Central Coast and whose family remains an integral part of the Estero Bay community. You can donate via GoFundMe page. We will be collecting cash donations at the vigil.

Samantha’s friend is selling T-shirts with proceeds being donated to her – see design and order information here.

Please bring LED candles or candles that will not drip wax on the ground at the Mission Plaza. Women’s March SLO will provide a limited number of LED candles.

If you or someone you know is suffering due to the Las Vegas shooting please message us through facebook or email us at womensmarchslo@gmail.com.

Our hearts go out to the victims, family members, friends, first responders and everyone else involved and affected. The purpose of this peaceful, non-political event is to support the victims and their families, and to offer our help. While the Women’s March San Luis Obispo encourages you to stay politically active to pursue solutions to the gun violence problem in the United States, we want to emphasize that this particular event is to pay respect to those who are no longer with us, and to offer condolences to their loved ones.
