Volunteer Solar Installer Orientation with SunWork

February 23 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Learn the basics of installing rooftop solar energy systems by volunteering with SunWork. This 3-hour classroom training session teaches the basics of rooftop solar, solar equipment, electricity, and construction safety. Afterwards, volunteers are eligible to participate on solar installations on the Central Coast working together with SunWork’s professional staff, attaching racking, running conduit, hanging inverters, and mounting the solar panels that make a system tick.

This volunteer solar orientation is a great opportunity to learn about clean renewable energy. Some of our volunteers leverage this experience toward a career in this exciting field or to do solar installations on their own homes. This orientation session is indoors in a class room setting.

Please note there is a separate free “Going Solar” workshop that follows in the afternoon which discusses the economics of going solar along with purchasing tips for homeowners. Please use this separate registration if you’d like to stay for the Going Solar workshop at 12:30.
