On October 2, San Luis Obispo community joins thousands across the United States to rally and march for reproductive justice. When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas’s abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. Simply put: We are witnessing the most dire threat to abortion access and reproductive healthcare in our lifetime.
That’s why people are marching in every single state and in our nation’s capital Washington, DC. We need to send an unmistakable message about our fierce opposition to restricting abortion access and overturning Roe v. Wade before it’s too late.

WHY WE RALLY AND MARCH
Access to safe and legal abortion is a constitutional right, and must remain open to all, regardless of location or income. While the Texas ban is the most extreme abortion restriction in the nation now, it won’t be the last. Now is the time to firmly oppose the wave of attacks on reproductive healthcare and make our voices heard!
WHO IS INVITED?
Any person, regardless of gender or gender identity, who believes women’s rights are human rights. All people who believe in a positive and just future are invited to join.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Mask, hand sanitizer, signs, friends, your own reusable water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen.
WHAT SHOULD MY SIGN SAY?
This rally and march is free and open to the public. Your signs are your personal expression of values you are advocating for. Organizers respectfully ask that signs address your truth, focus on the future you want, and refrain from personal attacks.
I plan to be there.
Would you mind if members of the Atascadero Democratic Club carried a club banner (and of course individual signs)?
You are welcome to bring a club banner!
Is there a specific color to wear ?
Hi Donna,
All colors are welcome! Planned Parenthood Generation Action will be in attendance. If you want to show them extra support their colors are Pink. GALA is also a supporter and they have the pride flag colors.
I have gotten emails that rally and march are at 1pm.
And on your website it says !0am.
Can you clarify please. Thank you
Hi Colleen, someone has posted an event on the Women’s March National website that is listed for 1pm at the Mission – this was not us. We reached out to both WM and the organizer listed for the 1pm event and have not received any response. It is NOT a WMSLO event. A community organized event is scheduled for 10am in front of the SLO Superior Courthouse.
I received many emails about the 1:00 pm rally and they were asking for donations as well. I wonder if it is even legit.
We were not able to get in touch with the organizer of the 1pm event and we think it might be a fake event. Unfortunately Women’s March failed to remove it from their website even after multiple outreach efforts from us.
