There are 3 events that we are aware of to demand an end to gun violence in our schools. Each event is unique and focuses on ending gun violence. WMSLO is currently supporting two of these events and taking the lead from our community on the third.

***3/14/18 #Enough! is a 17 min. student walkout in honor of the 17 Parkland victims, and to protest gun violence in schools. This is a student-centered event that WMSLO is providing resources for. If you are a student who wants our support, please PM us. Click for details:

***3/24/18 #MarchforOurLives is a March in San Luis Obispo to demand that Congress act to end gun violence and mass shootings in schools. This march is in solidarity with the Parkland student march that will happen on the same day in Washington DC. We look to amplify student voices while taking direct community action. ***4/20/18 National Teacher and Student Walkout on the 19th anniversary of Columbine. At this time WMSLO is not participating in this event because we have not heard from local teachers' groups/unions that they want our help. We do not want to advocate that teachers leave their classrooms unless those very teachers are asking for our support. Should this situation change, we will add an event to let the public know of our participation. We support all teachers and students who decide this action is right for them.
