Restorative Partners
Restorative Partners envisions a widespread embrace of a restorative justice approach and practice primarily in the Tri-Counties Criminal Justice System. Our work involves reaching out to all the stakeholders: victims, offenders, law enforcement, corrections, non-profits, university, business and faith-based communities to create a more healing response to those impacted by crime. Restorative Partners provides services and programs designed to meet diverse needs. Our small staff and an army of volunteers offer programs that focus on body, mind and spiritual transformation, incorporate trauma care, address responsibility and accountability, reduce violence and lower recidivism inside the San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Hall, Jail, and Honor Farms and provide reentry services including evidence-based programs, sober living housing and mentoring for those on Probation or Parole.

Indivisible SLO County – Voter Registration Booth 
Indivisible SLO County will be registering new voters and re-registering voters, with a focus on youth voters. If you are 17 or older, born before November 6, 2000, you will be eligible to vote in midterm elections on November 6, 2018.
Coalition to Protect SLO County
Coalition to Protect SLO County is a grassroots coalition of diverse individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting our County from the dangers of risky oil extraction practices. We are working to qualify a citizen’s initiative for the November 2018 election which will prevent new oil wells and fracking, similar to what other neighboring Counties like San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Monterey have done.
San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party
The mission of the SLOCDP is to support and elect Democratic candidates who reflect Democratic Party values, and to promote Democratic principles. To accomplish these goals, the SLOCDP registers Democratic voters, raises funds, organizes and supports local Democratic Clubs, and performs other duties and services for the overall benefit of the Democratic Party in San Luis Obispo County. SLOCDP acts as an information hub for the county, disseminating the message, philosophy and principles of the Party through voter outreach and networking. Officially, the SLOCDP endorses candidates, propositions, initiatives and/or measures and communicates those endorsements to the public.”
SLO County Commission on the Status of Women
The Commission on the Status of Women is an official advisory group to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors since 1975. The Commission identifies issues of concern to the women of San Luis Obispo County that compliments the focus of other advocacy or advisory organizations or provides a new forum for additional issues women face. These issues may include, but are not limited tofair and equal pay, health concerns, women veterans issues, education and vocation opportunities, medical and legal services, credit and loan policies, rape and other violent crimes against women, criminal justice policies and procedures, housing and transportation facilities, recreational programs and facilities, childcare needs of women. To determine the specific needs of women throughout San Luis Obispo County, we conduct studies by employing interview techniques, statistical methods, conducting public forums and utilizing public records and information available from private sources. These findings are then documented, published, and referred to the Board of Supervisors for action or dissemination.
SLO County Progressives
A grassroots organization dedicated to advancing progressive values. SLO County Progressives embrace the movement embodied by Bernie Sanders. Driven by the message of economic and social justice, SLO Progressives seeks to revitalize and reenergize the Democratic Party with bold progressive change. Change that represents the people, not the 1%, leading the party to overwhelming victories in 2018 and beyond.
Womenade
San Luis Obispo County Womenade, a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving San Luis Obispo County in California, is a network of community members that donates items, time, and money to meet essential needs of County residents. All funds collected go directly to support those in crisis. Referrals come from schools, medical professionals, county health departments, and organizations such as Family Care Network, Women’s Shelter, CAPSLO, and Prado Day Center.
NOW – National Organization For Women San Luis Obispo Chapter
The National Organization for Women, founded in 1966, is the largest organization of feminist grassroots activists in the United States. NOW has hundreds of chapters and hundreds of thousands of members and activists in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. NOW is an intersectional, multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women’s rights. Our priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women’s health issues; opposing racism; fighting bigotry against the LGBTQIA community; and ending violence against women, no matter race, age, or socio-economic class. The San Luis Obispo chapter of the National Organization for Women is the local point of contact for women and men want to take action to fulfill these goals.
American Association Of University Women
The mission of AAUW is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. With over 170,000 members and supporters it is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. AAUW has been empowering women since 1881 and has been active in SLO county since 1937. There are currently five local branches. Membership is open to anyone with an Associate degree or higher. Undergraduate college students are eligible for affiliate memberships. (Cal Poly students can join for free because Cal Poly is a university partner member.) By joining AAUW, you belong to a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women and girls have a fair chance.

As a nonprofit organization that serves both victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault/abuse and their loved ones, RISE provides comprehensive programs, services and resources to the community. The tagline of RISE- Respect. Inspire. Support. Empower embodies the work of RISE. We believe that RESPECT is the cornerstone to ending violence and creating peace. We strive to INSPIRE the community to be active in the movement to end gender-based violence. We SUPPORT loved ones of those affected by sexual assault/abuse and intimate partner violence and we EMPOWER victims to heal from trauma and transform their lives.

Atheists United SLO is a meeting place for all atheists, agnostics, and science-based skeptics to get to know each other, share ideas and build a community of like-minded individuals in San Luis Obispo County. Whether you’re just looking for a social outlet to meet other-non believers or you want to engage in atheist activism, discussions and reading, we have activities planned that welcome your involvement. Atheists United SLO is a local nonpartisan organization dedicated to the separation of church and state and to supporting women’s reproductive rights when challenged by religious belief.

Citizen Climate Lobby
Citizens Climate Lobby is a non-partisan, non-profit, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. This includes building constructive working relationships with members of Congress to seek passage of carbon fee and dividend (CF&D) legislation. CF&D, a revenue-neutral carbon fee with 100% of the net revenue returned directly to households, will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 52% below 1990 levels within 20 years, while growing the economy and saving lives. We talk with neighbors, friends, and local officials about how national climate action can help ensure a healthy climate and a livable world.
Bend The Arc: Jewish Action
Bend The Arc: Jewish Action is the political advocacy arm of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice. We are the only national Jewish organization that is focused solely on advocating and organizing for a more just and equal society here in the United States. Planned Parenthood Generation Action CP
Planned Parenthood Generation Action Network is a network of young organizers and activists across the country who organize events on their campuses and in their communities to mobilize advocates for reproductive freedom; in addition to raising public awareness about reproductive health and rights, educating young people about sexual health, and creating lasting change in those communities. This unique network acknowledges and supports the dynamic perspectives and intersectional framework that young people are using to connect reproductive health to other issue like civil rights, immigration, the environment, and identity politics.
The Center For Health And Prevention
The Center for Health and Prevention are two local health clinics in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande and part of the non-profit organization Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo. Our health clinics provide low to no cost reproductive health services and serve low-income populations throughout the county. Our mission is to encourage personal health and empowerment through access, advocacy and education. The Center clinics also offer assistance for enrollment and educational services for Medi-Cal and Covered California for those who are uninsured.
Coastal Thrivers
Coastal Thrivers’ mission is to facilitate holistic recreational activities designed for a peer network of “Thrivers,” altruistic survivors from child sexual abuse and sexual assault. Provide opportunities to engage physically, intellectually, and spiritually which can impact individuals emotionally, for the purpose of increasing health and well-being for their body, mind, and soul. Coastal Thrivers’ vision is to create a haven for survivors to socialize and participate in physical activities with others like themselves while learning and practicing the art of self-care; gaining control over the state from being a victim to being the hero of one’s own life journey and to share these strengths altruistically collaborating within the community, in order to inform, and eliminate stigmas and abuse all together.
Starfish Education Fund
Starfish Education Fund provides school fees for orphans or children of single mothers so the children can go to school in Masaka, Uganda. Starfish believes education is the most important tool to help lift people from the bondage of poverty. It is also a way to help young women avoid of the tradition of selling a daughter for a bride price. In Uganda education is not free. Mothers struggle constantly to pay school fees. One child’s fee can cost almost all their earnings for one month. A mother often has to decide which child will go to school each term. Contributing to Starfish can make a lifelong difference to a child.
R.A.C.E. Matters SLO County
The acronym stands for Responsibility, Action, Compassion, and Education. The mission of R.A.C.E. Matters SLO County is to create space for dialogue about race, inspiring action and centering voices of color.
The Queer Crowd
The Queer Crowd is here to support, encourage and facilitate a more diverse and inclusive new form of community on the Central Coast of California. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans folk, queerdos and weirdos through fostering a stronger and more visible sense of queer community in San Luis Obispo. We exist to fight for ALL marginalized communities and act as allies to all those negatively affected by the current administration, including the environment.

5 Cities Hope
We are a grassroots organization that host events for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. We have many events such as hikes, bonfires, and resoruce fairs. We focus on LGBTQIA+ youth, but have created a collective of people with many different background and age ranges.

Earth Day Alliance
Earth Day Alliance is a SLO County based nonprofit. Our mission is to coordinate an annual Earth Day Fair for the purpose of raising awareness, educating and activating the public on ways to protect and preserve planet Earth for future generations. The 28th annual Earth Day Fair will take place on April 21, 2018 at Laguna Lake Park.
Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success (CCC-USS)
The Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success (CCC-USS) was founded by staff and faculty from Allan Hancock College, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), and Cuesta College. Today, the coalition includes K-12 representatives and other community partners in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara counties. We are dedicated to creating and sustaining a system to support undocumented students in our region so that they can achieve their personal and professional goals. Our mission is to create social change to ensure educational equity for all students and build capacity to support undocumented students in our region.

Access Support Network (ASN)
The Access Support Network, or ASN, serves the San Luis Obispo County and Monterrey County communities, assisting our neighbors, friends, and family living with HIV/AIDS. With the help of dedicated staff and volunteers, ASN works diligently to stabilize clients’ health – financially, emotionally and physically, and all at no cost.
Working toward a healthy community, ASN also offers prevention education opportunities for schools, church groups, service clubs and businesses. For us, ensuring that everyone understands that this is a preventable disease is paramount.

She believes in strengthening relationships within the diverse voices of our residents, revitalizing the unique culture of our downtown, and enhancing community resilience through energy efficiency and sustainability in our changing climate. Heidi is a reform-minded leader, passionate about keeping the voice and concern of local residents at the forefront of everything she does. After more than thirty years of domestic violence services, The Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County has undergone a rebrand, and WSP is now Stand Strong. Our work remains the same, and we are committed to providing comprehensive services for survivors of intimate partner violence and child abuse. This new name represents our mission to support survivors and end domestic violence in SLO County. It reflects the strength and resilience of survivors, the strength of our resolve to stand with them, and the strength of the community to stand with us and end this violence. Healthy California Campaign
Healthy California is a campaign comprised of organizations representing over 6 million Californians committed to guaranteeing healthcare for the residents of our state. Our goal is to win improved Medicare for All in California.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) made history by expanding health insurance to millions of Californians for the first time. However, it left insurance companies in charge of our healthcare system. Also, even with the ACA, 3,000,000 California residents are still uninsured.
With the federal government again doing healthcare reform, moving more responsibility for healthcare to the states, it’s imperative that California establish a better, truly universal system, which finally gets costs under control. The Golden State can set the standard for the country by implementing a just and equitable healthcare system — Healthy California!

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
Cal Poly Women’s & Gender Department
Teaching, learning and doing in Women’s & Gender Studies at Cal Poly is designed to promote scholarly inquiry, education and activism. As described by the National Women’s Studies Association (2013), Women’s & Gender Studies “is fundamentally about the study of power and societal inequalities.” Our students are empowered to question and contribute to knowledge creation, community formation, activism, creative practice, and policymaking from interdisciplinary and intersectional perspectives. Students gain hands-on experience serving as leaders in the creation, enactment and evaluation of efforts to create a more inclusive, just and equitable Cal Poly and world.
Latino Outreach Council
Founded in 1994, the San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Latino Outreach Council (LOC) is a non-profit organization that consists of a Policy Board of 15 individuals who represent various sectors of the community. The LOC is dedicated to facilitating the equal and full participation of all members of the Latino community in the life and affairs of the County. The Council promotes progress in the Latino community through advancement in education, participation in community affairs and in increasing knowledge about and access to relevant services. The LOC also works to identify and facilitate the removal of barriers which inhibit the Latino Community’s achievement of its goals.
