WHAT IS IT?

A Day Without A Woman and International Women’s Day are just one week away!

A Day Without a Woman honors the contributions that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system–while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity.

International Women’s Day 2017 focuses on #BeBoldForChange. Women all over the world will be using March 8 to focus on how they will take bold action and inspire other to do the same.

HOW DO I JOIN?

  • Refrain from paid and unpaid work.

  • Business owners and bosses give women the day off without retribution.

  • Avoid shopping for one day with exceptions for small, women and minority-owned businesses that support equity.

  • Wear red in solidarity with International Women’s Day.

  • Join A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN MARCH in San Luis Obispo.

Male Allies

  • Lean into caregiving on March 8th.

  • Use the day to call out decision-makers at the workplace and in the government to extend equal pay and adequate paid family leave for women.

  • Business owners and bosses give women the day off without retribution.

  • Join A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN MARCH in San Luis Obispo.
