5 Cities Hope provides an inclusive environment for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies of all ages and backgrounds to connect with one another. This service includes resource fairs, holiday events, social support groups, outdoor activities, and other community events.

SLO NOOR FOUNDATION
The SLO Noor Foundation with medical, vision and dental clinics provide free healthcare to the area’s uninsured. In 2019 in conjunction with Cal Poly we will roll out a Mobile Women’s Health Unit going out to Ag areas to bring ob/gyn care to some of the most vulnerable.

 

CITIZEN CLIMATE LOBBY
We are an advocacy group working with congress to get a revenue neutral price on carbon in order to fight Global Warming.

 

COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN
The Commission on the Status of Women has been an official advisory group to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors since 1975. The commission identifies issues of concern to the women of San Luis Obispo County and reports those findings in an annual report.

 

RISE
As a nonprofit organization that serves both victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault/abuse and their loved ones, RISE provides comprehensive programs, services and resources to the community. We hold an annual Earth Day Fair in April with the intent of educating and activating the public about environment related issues and solutions. The Access Support Network saves and enhances the lives of people in our community impacted by HIV and Hep C. We provide access to comprehensive critical services that empower our clients.

The Center for Health & Prevention (The Center) clinics, located in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande, provide compassionate, confidential and non-judgmental reproductive health care for low-income, undocumented, uninsured and underinsured women, men and adolescents. Since the 1970’s, The Center has embodied the mission “to foster personal health and empowerment through access, advocacy, and education.”

The SLOCDP works to support and elect Democratic candidates and promote Democratic values and principles within San Luis Obispo County. The SLOCDP stands for the overarching tenets of dignity, stewardship, integrity, and the active pursuit of social, economic, and environmental justice for all, by engaging the community through participation in the democratic process.

 

We are Cal Poly’s resource for prevention education and response to sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking. Safer was created 1996 after the disappearance and murders of three women in the SLO community and has been educating and advocating ever since.

Cervivor is a community, a learning tool, an advocacy resource, and an online retreat for healing, connecting and thriving. While everyone experiences cancer as an individual, we want to help survivors bring their collective wisdom together to create a community of advocates.

We are a group of progressive weirdos, queerdos, radicals and intellectuals organizing to encourage a more consistently confident, colorful, egalitarian and engaged community. STAND STRONG
Providing counseling, emergency shelter, transitional housing, legal services, and advocacy for members of the SLO County community affected by domestic violence, and prevention and education efforts for the community at large.

 

SLO CLIMATE COALITION
SLO Climate Coaltion is a volunteer group of dedicated, talented local residents who created the mission of leveraging community expertise, creativity and resources in order to multiply SLO City’s efforts to become carbon free. The Climate Coalition is a partnership between SLO City and SLO Clean Energy in support of SLO City’s climate action major city goal.

 

CAPSLO 211
The 211 community resource project is a database that has over 900 non profits listed. It is free, confidential, 24/7, 365 days a year and in multiple languages. There are a variety of services listed from food and shelter to healthcare clinics and reproductive services and so much more! The 211 program is a collaborative effort to be a one stop spot for community resources. It is supported by a grant provided to CAPSLO, United Way, Victims Witness/DA’s office and the county office of education.

 

CENTRAL COAST COALITION FOR UNDOCUMENTED STUDENT SUCCESS
The Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success (CCC-USS) is a partnership between educators on the Central Coast who are dedicated to creating and sustaining a system to support undocumented students in our region so that they can achieve their personal and professional goals.

 

 

THE LATINO OUTREACH COUNCIL
