Cecilia Girvin is a person with a passion for wild places and is currently a student at Cal Poly studying biology with the intent to work as a conservationist in the future. She was born in Southern California but spent most of her childhood in Northern Virginia, near Washington D.C., where she developed an interest in politics and environmental activism.

Cecilia has always loved reading and creating art, so naturally, poetry became a favorite medium of hers. She finds writing poetry to be both challenging and highly rewarding, but she has always kept her work private and has not, until now, had the opportunity to share it in a public setting.
