We are beyond grateful to Maddy, Lexie and Gabby – Cal Poly students who interned with us – and Diana Kryukova, a graphic design major at Chico State University. It was such a pleasure to have them be a part of our team!
Maddy, Lexie and Gabby are all transfer students, third year. They met on Registration Day and are all Communications majors and members of the Communications Club. When their professor, Dr. David Askay, offered the club members the opportunity to work with Women’s March SLO, they jumped at the chance. They hope to continue their internship with the SLO International Film Festival. They created #walkaboutSLO – recruited merchants’ participation, designed (with Diana) the ballot and the map for the walkabout. They also, in conjunction with History Center of San Luis Obispo, created the pop-up display on Women’s March SLO 2017 that is currently in the History Center. They’ll be creating a pop-up interactive art show during the Hear Our Vote Rally, so visit them in the tent in front of the History Center by Mission Plaza.
